Coordinato dal Servizio Europa del Comune, il 12 novembre si è tenuto in videoconferenza il terzo incontro tra rappresentanti di istituzioni, cooperative, società e associazioni operanti nel territorio di San Benedetto del Tronto chiamati a far parte del “Centro d’Eccellenza” che supporterà il Comune nella realizzazione degli obiettivi del progetto ARCA Adriatica.

ARCA Adriatica è un progetto di cooperazione territoriale tra Italia e Croazia inserito nel programma ‘Interreg’ che l’Unione Europea finanzia allo scopo di affrontare le sfide comuni trovando soluzioni condivise nei territori contigui e intende sviluppare un turismo di alto profilo, consapevole e sostenibile, attraverso la tutela e la valorizzazione del patrimonio marittimo adriatico, sia materiale che immateriale. Pertanto si concentra sugli aspetti etnografici, ovvero sul mondo di una cultura marinara e marittima oggi quasi completamente scomparsa, ma che testimonia una tradizione secolare ed è patrimonio che richiede urgente tutela e nuove metodologie di conservazione. Per questo motivo ARCA Adriatica si sviluppa attraverso azioni e attività specifiche, come la realizzazione di prodotti multimediali, eventi pubblici e turistici (regate di barche tradizionali, rievocazioni di antichi mestieri e abilità), approfondimenti scientifici e laboratori sui temi della marineria tradizionale (remi e vele), sulla pesca, sulla cantieristica.

Il Centro di Eccellenza è l’organismo previsto dal progetto che deve supportare il Comune nelle attività da svolgere. Questo “tavolo permanente” di confronto tra tutti i soggetti pubblici e privati del territorio che si interessano al tema collaborerà nell’organizzazione di eventi come workshop scientifici o divulgativi (rivolti a studenti o ad altre persone), conferenze, visite ai siti e ai luoghi del patrimonio, promozione di mestieri e competenze tradizionali marittimi, attività marinare e altri eventi legati al patrimonio marittimo, la sua conservazione e promozione.

Nelle prossime settimane sarà stipulato da tutti i partecipanti il documento di adesione al Centro.

Coordinated by the European Services Office of the Municipality, on 12 November the third meeting between representatives of institutions, cooperatives, companies and associations operating in the territory of San Benedetto del Tronto were called to participate in the online meeting for the creation of the "Centre of Excellence" that will support the Municipality in achieving the objectives of the ARCA Adriatica project.

ARCA Adriatica is a project of territorial cooperation between Italy and Croatia included in the 'Interreg' programme that the European Union is financing aiming at dealing with the common challenges by finding shared solutions in the contiguous territories. The project intends to develop a high-profile, aware and sustainable tourism through the protection and enhancement of the Adriatic maritime heritage, both tangible and intangible. Therefore, it focuses on ethnographic aspects, i.e. the world of a maritime culture that today has almost completely disappeared, but which witnesses a centuries-old tradition and is a heritage that urgently requires protection and new methods of conservation. For this reason ARCA Adriatica develops through specific actions and activities, such as the creation of multimedia products, public and tourist events (traditional boat races, re-enactments of ancient crafts and skills), scientific insights and workshops on traditional maritime topics (oars and sails), fishing, and shipbuilding.

The Centre of Excellence, as foreseen by the project must support the Municipality in the activities to be carried out. This "permanent table" of dialogue between all the public and private subjects of the territory who are interested in the topic will collaborate in the organization of events such as: scientific or informative workshops (addressed to students or other people), conferences, visits to heritage sites and places, promotion of traditional maritime trades and skills, maritime activities and other events related to maritime heritage, its conservation and promotion.

In the following weeks, all the participants will sign the document of Agreement for the Centre of Excellence.
