The activities of ARCA Adriatica, the European project in which the Municipality of San Benedetto del Tronto is a partner and which promotes territorial cooperation between Italy and Croatia, are progressing. The aim is to turn the natural and cultural heritage into a driving force for a sustainable and more balanced territorial development by enhancing the tangible and intangible heritage, the environment and the culture of the places linked to the maritime realities of the Adriatic area on which the two countries border.
On 20 May, the Centre of Excellence set up in San Benedetto del Tronto to support the Municipality in carrying out the activities envisaged by the ARCA Adriatica project met again at the Relax Hotel. The Centre of Excellence includes 21 representatives of entrepreneurial realities, cultural and tourist promotion associations, and educational institutions.
They evaluated actions in progress or already implemented, such as the 13 tourist panels located at various points of interest in English and Italian, the establishment of the Local Promotion Centre, the restoration of two boats of historical and cultural value, the production of two promotional videos of the city and a tourist brochure.
At its meeting on 20 May, the Centre of Excellence examined the possibility of setting up a Temporary Purpose Association between the members of the Centre, an instrument that would make it possible to simplify the procedure for implementing the many initiatives planned, such as the preparation of a tourist package and the promotion of the tourist offer through both traditional and more innovative channels. To conclude, the centre of excellence was a meeting place where the different parties got to know each other to implement activities envisaged by the project itself, and from there, have manifested their willingness to create a Temporary Association of Businesses of which the municipality will not be a part.
